Meeting on 11th January 2026

It’s been a busy few days for our Shedders. On Thursday we met up at the Methodist Church cafe for some breakfast and a brew. We were lucky enough to spend some time with the lovely Clare Hunter as well.
On Saturday we had our first ever Virtual Shed meeting. We’d had eight people sign up for this event, which was great. We’ve decided to have a virtual meeting once a month so keep your eyes pealed for details of the next one.
Today we had our normal shed meeting at the Methodist Church, we had a record turnout. The atmosphere in the room was really upbeat. It was so nice to see a new face, look forward to seeing you again. One of our ladies had a birthday last week so Anne made them a cake and we all had a slice with our brew.

Next week we are meeting at Cuerden Valley Park cafe so there won’t be a meeting at the Methodist Church.

Happy New Year 2026 We were so excited to be at the Shed

Despite the weather a few of us met up this afternoon for our first official meeting of 2026. It was an open meeting which means anything goes. Emma had found a quiz for us so we starting off with that. Anne won getting 6 out of 10 questions correct and won some Angel cake.

Some of us played Rummikub, this is turning into the most played game at our meetings now.

Our Penultimate Meeting of 2025

Today was our penultimate meeting of 2025. We also had three things to celebrate as well. It was Anne’s birthday so we enjoyed a slice of caterpillar cake with our tea and coffee. Emma and Lyndsey have both recently got engaged, although not to each other! So we gave both of them hand made cards.

After all the congratulations and birthday cake we split into three groups, one group played Rummikub, another played bananagrams and cards and the third group just chatted and put the world to rights.
It was another great meeting with a lovely atmosphere. We are all looking forward to our last meeting of 2025 and we’d love you to join us. 2-4pm at Bamber Bridge Methodist Church.

Meeting on 30th November 2025

What a weekend we’ve had. On Saturday we had a stall at the Methodist Church Christmas Fayre. Massive thanks to everyone who helped either by donating, making or baking and all the help on the day manning the stall. Can’t believe we managed to pull it all together in just a few weeks.

Did you come and see us? If you bought anything from our stall, thanks so much for supporting us, the Methodist Church and St Catherine’s Hospice, it really is appreciated.
Today we just had an easy meeting, sitting around with brews and finishing off the cakes and chatting. It was lovely and relaxing. I was so relaxed I forgot to take any photos. Good job I got some photos of our stall.

Meeting on 24th November 2025

We had our 2nd speaker at the Shed meeting yesterday. Cheryl Semple came to offer advice on setting up our Shed group as she has set up lots of new groups in the past. It was a very informative meeting.

Only a week to go before the Christmas Fayre at the Methodist Church, don’t forget to come down to see us and find out more about our Women’s Shed.
Thanks as always to our lovely photographer and to Anne, Emma and Cheryl for taking notes for us.

Meeting on 16th November 2025

We had a great meeting today and we had five new faces to welcome.

Jan brought her crochet needles and wool and showed us how to crochet. Lyndsey brought pebbles and pens so we could try our hand at pebble painting. The ladies who didn’t want to craft chatted over a cup of tea. So we had something for everyone.
We have booked a table at the Methodist Church Christmas Fayre so we are hoping to have some crochet bookmarks, brooches and pebbles to sell. The Fayre is on Saturday 29th November from 10am to 4pm so please come down and say hi to us.

Meeting on 9th November 2025

We welcomed four new people to our shed meeting today, hope you enjoyed the meeting ladies and come back to join us soon.

One of the things we talked about today was speakers we’d like to invite to speak to us in 2026. If you would like to come and speak to us drop us an email at bamberbridgewomensshed@gmail.com letting us know what you’d like to speak about.
Thanks as always to our resident photographer. Some of us are a bit camera shy!
Don’t forget we meet every Sunday, 2-4pm at the Bamber Bridge Methodist Church. Next week we are having a crochet workshop so do come along if you can.
